As director of planned and major gifts, Ted builds relationships with alumni and friends and helps them set in place a gift to CMU that is both personally meaningful and supports their philanthropic goals for the university. Ted provides education about the variety of ways to make gifts to CMU through personal contacts, the Planned Giving web site (giftplanning.cmich.edu) and the Insight newsletter. Ted works with donors and their advisers to determine a giving method that maximizes financial and tax benefits, such as establishing a gift through a person’s estate plan or another gift plan.
